Program: Special Projects

Amidst the scorching summer heat, over 700 elementary students, teachers and other guests trooped to the Hacienda Bigaa Open Field to partake in the E. Zobel Foundation’s 2012 Fun Day, with this year’s theme --- Fitness First, an annual celebration commemorating the 8th death anniversary of the businessman-philanthropist, Don Enrique Zobel.
Accompanied by the Our Lady of Carmel Lyre Band, students and teachers in sports attire paraded from the Calatagan Covered Court to the event venue where a brief opening ceremony and a number of fun-filled games awaited them.
Stunning muses graciously walked like a model to the delight of the crowd. Three beautiful muses from Enrique Zobel, Talisay, and Pedro Palacio Elementary Schools eventually bagged the Best Muse award. After the muses presentation, the participants, especially the teachers and guests loved the Zumba dance exercise heartily facilitated by the EZF’s event partner, the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School’s P.E. and Sports Department, which also taught a number of students on how to play Frisbee and football during the fun day sports clinics.
And when the game master signalled the start of the games, all the participants were over the moon as they excitedly proceeded from one game to the next. The track and field events, different ball and fun games, were enthusiastically played by all and overjoyed winners eagerly ran for their prizes at the claim booth. Nobody went home empty handed.
With the good turnout of the event, and the majority of the participants going home in wet clothes and in high spirits, the EZF is already considering “Wet ‘N Wild’ as next year’s theme.
See you at the next Fun Day!
