I ♥2 READ GOES TO THE ANIMALANDIA

Program: Learning Support

At tumawa habang tumatakbo. .............and the students, too, had a nice laugh as they enjoyed the interactive storytelling on “Tiktaktok at Pikpakbum,“ confidently presented by invited Grade 2 students from Dalima Elementary School in Tuy, Batangas, during the I ♥ 2 Read Project’s July 7, 2012 reading activity held at the EZF garden, Calatagan, Batangas. Not to be outdone was Kyla Jean Austria of Talisay Elementary School (Calatagan) who did a solo performance, with her cat-like rendition of “Ang Itim na Kuting,” a cat who is always ridiculed because of her black color. The I ♥ 2 Read is an interactive reading project initiated and launched in 2009 by the E. Zobel Foundation (EZF) which primarily aims to develop the habit and love for reading among the schoolchildren. This is a complimentary reading activity in support of the in-school reading program. The reading session is held every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month with guest storytellers, attended by 90-100 grades 1 – 3 schoolchildren from different public elementary schools. Last year, the EZF has also partnered with the De La Salle Santiago Zobel’s Book Mobile Project in its continuous efforts to provide the schoolchildren with interesting, appropriate and relevant reading materials that can enhance their reading ability.
