ALL IN ACTION for #BrigadaEskwela2016

Program: Infrastructure Development

The E. Zobel Foundation mobilized its welding and electrical trainees together with the EZ Foundation and Tom Layng’s Scholars to take part in this year’s Brigada Eskwela. Over the last two days, almost a hundred students and their parents volunteered and took turn to help in the various repair and repainting works, clean up of classrooms and in the school grounds beautification. The ENZOTECH trainees checked the electrical installation in every classroom, changed starters and bulbs if needed - to ensure that the rooms are properly lighted. On the other hand, the other trainees also did minor welding repairs on broken steel window and door frames. The Foundation also provided several schools with the needed paint materials and roof sealant to help them in their maintenance works. Brigada Eskwela is not just about readying the schools for the re-opening of classes but also highlighting the modern spirit of Bayanihan wherein all sectors pulled efforts together to prepare for a safe and conducive learning facility for schoolchildren. It has opened multiple doors for learning and reflection seeing the needs and challenges even the shortcomings of public schools.
