GRASSROOT LIVELIHOOD PROJECT-Pananahi Project Concluding Ceremony

Program: Special Projects

The 20-day Basic Sewing Training under the Grassroot Livelihood Project (GLP) was wrapped up through a simple concluding ceremony held at EnzoTech in Calatagan, Batangas on September 11, 2015. A total of 20 graduates, 19 of whom are Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program grantees, have each received a certificate of training completion. Aside from the commencement exercises, the turn-over of 19 units of brand new sewing machines through a soft loan was facilitated by the E. Zobel Foundation to the same number of beneficiaries. These are interest-free and payable in 18 equal monthly amortizations. The accummulated payments will be used to provide other brand new units of sewing machines to succeeding batch/es of sewing trainees. At present, all of the graduates are accepting sewing jobs from their neighbors and friends not only to further their acquired skills but to earn a livelihood for their families and have the means to pay off their loan obligation with the EZF.
